Concept

Families into Homes Partnership (FIHP) started with a simple concept: partner with good families to help them acquire safe, decent, affordable homes.  FIHP also provides jobs for local workers during the construction of each home.

How it Works

FIHP is a partnership between Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC) parish staff, local laborers, volunteers and financial sponsors:

Partner Role
OLMC
  • selects families
  • provides construction supervision, logistical and administrative support
Local laborers
  • provide manpower to build homes
Families
  • provide land (in some cases) for homesites
  • purchase homes over a 10-20 year period at 0% interest
Financial Sponsors
  • provide capital to fund the program
Construction Volunteers
  • may include financial sponsors, friends of OLMC or others with construction experience
